The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has officially announced the admission notification for the academic year 2025-26, initiating the process of enrollment for students of different grades in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs). The notification was published on their official website, kvsangathan.nic.in, giving complete information about the application process, schedule, and documents needed. This is a significant event for guardians and parents seeking to get their children a seat in one of the elite KVs.
The online application process for admission into Class I and Balvatika (classes 1, 2, and 3) will open on March 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The online window will be open until March 21, 2025, at 10:00 PM. This is an important time for guardians and parents because they are required to upload their child’s application form and other details as well as the supporting documents in this time limit. Admission for Class I and Balvatika classes will depend upon the available seats in their respective classes.
In the case of admissions in Balvatika-2 and Class II upwards, with the exception of Class XI, there will be a little variation in the process of registration. The offline registration for these classes will start from April 2, 2025, and continue up to April 11, 2025. Subsequently, a provisional list for admissions in Balvatika-2 and Class II and above will be published on April 17, 2025. The actual admissions in these classes will start from April 18, 2025. Like in the case of online admission, these seats will be allocated depending on seat availability in the respective Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Whereas the process of registration for Balvatika and lower classes is a simple timeline, admission to Class XI will be done a bit later. Class XI registration will be done within 10 days of the announcement of the results of Class X and will enable the students to apply for the streams and courses of their choice once their board results are declared.
To make the application process easy for parents and guardians, KVS has provided a step-by-step guide to applying online for admissions. The initial step is to go to the official KVS admission website at kvsangathan.nic.in. After reaching the homepage, applicants will have to click on the ‘Admission 2025-26’ link. Subsequently, a ‘New Registration’ button will be displayed, which has to be clicked to start the process. Once registered, parents will be required to provide correct information, such as the child’s personal details, parent’s information, and their desired Kendriya Vidyalaya school.
After completing the initial registration, applicants will have to log in using the registered email ID and password to continue entering the required fields on the application form. This involves filling in detailed information regarding the child and the parent, along with choosing the desired Kendriya Vidyalaya school. The application form will also involve uploading scanned copies of important documents, including the child’s birth certificate, passport-sized child photo, residence proof (such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID card, or utility bill), and caste certificate (if required). For upper-class admissions, a transfer certificate will also be needed to authenticate the student’s past academic record.
Once the application form has been filled in and the documents uploaded, parents can submit the form and proceed with the application fee payment. The payment can be done online through different modes of payment such as Credit/Debit Cards, Net Banking, or UPI.
The application documents are necessary for authenticating the information provided at the time of registration and ensuring that the student is eligible for admission. Parents must make these documents available and correct prior to starting the application process so that they are not delayed.
In summary, the KVS admission process for the 2025-26 academic session has officially commenced with well-defined guidelines and deadlines for online and offline applications. Parents and guardians are recommended to diligently go through the procedure laid down by KVS so that their child’s application can be submitted well in time. By complying with the registration deadlines and uploading all the necessary documents, candidates stand a better chance of getting admitted to one of the numerous Kendriya Vidyalayas in the nation.
